Kallis could make ODI

Kallis, at the age of nearly 38, has not been a part of the one-day side for the past year, but coach Gary Kirsten is making a case for a comeback. Though the Proteas won the recent series against Pakistan three-two, Kirsten wants Kallis' 321 ODIs in his arsenal.Kirsten conceded that the recent series win against Pakistan was a positive step away from needing Kallis at all, with players like Farhaan Behardien and Colin Ingram doing relatively well as the Proteas look to stabilise the side. The former opener said: Negotiations are going well. Jacques Kallis is not going to play one-day cricket anymore because we value him in Test matches too much but we reserve the right to call him up in certain tournaments. The coach added: "This was a good stepping stone in terms of where we want to go. Guys like Farhaan Behardien and David Miller; people who have not done well for us in the past have been given a run and shown they are capable. It's good that we have competition and we have created depth. The Champions Trophy is the last major tournament before the World Cup (in 2015) and I am excited that he may make himself available for that
