County Cricket News

One month into the season and Yorkshire are sitting on top of both Division One of the Championship and Group B of the Clydesdale Bank 40. So far the move to install Andrew Gale as club captain during the winter has proven to be inspired.
Ashwell Prince,
who was part of Lancashire’s 2012 LV= County Championship campaign which resulted in relegation, is poised to return to Old Trafford as a Kolpak player for the 2013 and 14 seasons as they look to regain their position in the top flight.
Prince, 35, scored over 1000 runs for the club in 2012, but will have to give up any hopes of a recall to the South Africa side if he is to re-join them for the upcoming season. The club have signed Australian Simon Katich from Hampshire as their overseas player.
