Ponting CPL franchise player

                  In 1995, Ponting had embarked on his first tour with the senior team to the West Indies, and he has said he “cannot wait to return to the place from where his international touring life began.Since his retirement from international cricket in December 2012, Ponting has kept himself busy with domestic cricket. He started 2013 turning up for Tasmania in Australia’s domestic season and was a part of Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League, where he scored 236 runs in seven matches at a strike-rate of 121.02. Prior to the CPL, he will captain Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. Later in the summer, he will fill in for Graeme Smith, the South African Test captain, at Surrey during the ICC Champions Trophy.Ricky Ponting, the former Australian captain, has been signed up as the first international franchise player of the inaugural edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), scheduled from July 29 to August 26 this year.Darren Sammy, Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard and Marlon Samuels have also confirmed their participation in the tournament which will have six franchises: Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, St Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago.The West Indies has always been one of my favourite cricket destinations,” said Ponting.  “The mix of entertainment and cricket is the perfect recipe for West Indian cricket fans as well as the rest of the world
