Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq admitted to being 'alarmed' by his side's performance in South Africa over the past two months, saying the batting wasn't nearly good enough as they lost both the Test and ODI series.Misbah again denied there was any ill feeling in the camp, after reports of a rift between himself and Mohammad Hafeez, and said he would leave the judging of performances up to the selectors ahead of the Champions Trophy.Misbah said upon arrival in Pakistan: "Those were disappointing series. We were better in the one-dayers but couldn't do much in the Tests and it's an alarming situation where we need improvement in a lot of things. The Proteas won the Tests two-nil, while the one-dayers were far more competitive, going down to the fifth match as the hosts won three-two. But the skipper wasn't heartened by that narrow loss, saying they needed to improve drastically. He said: "We didn't lose because of any rift, we must admit that South Africa were the better team in both the formats. It is up to the cricket board and the selectors to gauge the performance of the players. I can't do that, everyone has seen who has performed.I think our batting struggled throughout the tour, whether it were the Tests or one-days but the pitches were such that even a top quality batsman like Hashim Amla (of South Africa) also struggled (in a few matches).
