Anderson fit

Anderson hurt his back and suffered discomfort in his heel during the rain-affected second match of the three-match series in Wellington, but has recovered sufficiently. The 31-year-old right-armer is five wickets shy of becoming the fourth Englishman to clinch 300 in Test cricket, after erstwhile seamers Ian Botham, Bob Willis and Fred Trueman. The last two of his 295 scalps saw New Zealand right-hander dismissed. I feel okay. The rain probably helped in the end, getting an extra day off. It gave my body an extra bit of rest. So I hope, come Friday, my body will be ready to go five days again," said Anderson. The tourists were largely outgunned by their hosts at the University Oval, but fared considerably better at the Basin Reserve.Fast bowler James Anderson has pronounced himself fit to play in England's third and final Test against New Zealand, which gets underway at Eden Park in Auckland on Friday. The contest, though, remains deadlocked after back-to-back draws. Anderson, however, is confident England will ultimately trump an opposition six places inferior in the International Cricket Council Test rankings.
