Jimmy Adams desperate

We had a great year last year in many ways but we are also well aware that we fell short in the four-day game.It was a tough decision but we will have a number of those this season. So we've looked at areas where we can improve from last year.Leicester are a competitive side and they showed that last year and we need to be at out best. But I feel we have the quality to get the result we are looking for. Come September hopefully after a season of hard work and toil, we can welcome Division One cricket here next season.I think we've had a really good pre-season and I'm very happy with the way we've prepared in Barbados. We've had some decent weather so we're ready to go.Wicketkeeper Adam Wheater will make his Hampshire debut and start ahead of Michael Bates, and Hampshire manager Giles White admitted it had been a hard call.
