Morkel

The stockier Morkel brother last played for the Proteas in March last year, against New Zealand, and has 58 ODI caps under his belt. But he has fallen out of favour, with Ryan McLaren filling the all-rounder role in recent months.Chennai coach Stephen Fleming, the former New Zealand batsman, tried to explain why Morkel did so well for the Super Kings but not for the Proteas, saying during the Champions League last year: "He is a bit more secure with us and a bit more in spotlight which may make him more comfortable with CSK in his role. Morkel said in the Times of India: "By all counts I won't play for South Africa again, so it's not a desire of mine to prove anything to anyone. My focus will be to do my best for CSK and contribute on and off the field.South Africa all-rounder Albie Morkel, brother of fast bowler Morne, has announced that he doesn't see himself playing for the Proteas again, and is going to focus on his T20 commitments, both at home and with the Chennai Super Kings. While Morkel has been praised as one of the most explosive T20 players in the game, his stats for his IPL franchise far exceed his international figures. He only averages 23-odd in both ODIs and T20Is with the bat, while his bowling averages are in the mid-30s.
