Ryder out of coma

He was in a critical condition and was put into an induced coma, but by yesterday Klee said Ryder was stable and had given doctors a thumbs-up.Police confirmed on Friday that two men - a 20-year-old and a 37-year-old who are related - are set to appear in court on April 4 after being charged with assault. Since then, the news has gotten even more positive. It is believed Ryder was involved in an altercation with two people outside Aikmans bar in the Christchurch suburb of Merivale shortly after 12.30am local time on Thursday morning. Jesse's condition has improved to the extent that he is now out of the induced coma and off the ventilator," said Klee. "Jesse is awake and talking to us, but he is obviously still working through the immediate effects from being in the coma and the drugs the medical team have been using. He took an indefinite break from international cricket in 2012 and has not played for New Zealand since February last year, but was due to fly out to India this week to compete for the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League.Naturally we are thrilled with this progress. This is only the start of the recovery process for Jesse and there is still a big battle ahead to full health, but the progress is positive.
