Former England captain Michael Vaughan has backed Yorkshire batsman Joe Root to skipper the national side in the future.Root, 22, has had a big impact this year with scores of 182 against Durham and 236 against Derbyshire.He will be making his first appearance on home soil for England at Lord's against New Zealand in Thursday's Test."I can see him captaining England because he has everything," Vaughan told BBC Radio Leeds."The problem he has is the pressure and the expectation because sometimes it doesn't happen for you when you have that."He just has to be patient and stick to the values of what he's been doing over the last few weeks.Michael Vaughan“I just hope they have a special year with it being their anniversary. That will always come through in time."Root, who hit a ton as he skippered England Lions against the Kiwis at the weekend, has so far played four Tests after making his debut in India in December and has an average of 30.16 from seven innings. He has also been backed to captain the national side by former England skipper Alec Stewart.Meanwhile, Vaughan, business development manager for the ISM agency which represents both him and Root, believes Yorkshire's hopes of maintaining their strong start to the season will be hit by the loss of their England players.As well as Root the Headingley side, who are in their 150th year, have Tim Bresnan and Jonny Bairstow in England contention.After falling to a disappointing innings defeat in their opening match against Sussex they recovered with victories against Derbyshire and Durham before drawing with Somerset last week."They've had a good start but it will be difficult for them to replace the players who are with England," he said"They'll really miss their runs and experience but they'll keep fighting and they'll no doubt unearth a couple of young players we haven't seen a great deal of."If you look at the sides who win the title it's generally the ones who aren't affected by selection. Warwickshire won it last year and Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott are in their squad but they hardly ever play so they can pick a consistent side."I just hope they have a special year with it being their anniversary.
