Highlights: KXIP Vs MI

Dharamsala, May 18: It was a winning farewell for captain Adam Gilchrist as Kings XI Punjab defeated Mumbai Indians by 50 runs in Match 69 of IPL 2013 here on Saturday evening. KXIP also signed off the tournament with a win. Scorecard; Over-by-over runs Gilchrist, at the toss, announced that today's game would be his last. Though he scored just 5 runs his team won with Gilchrist taking a wicket. KXIP did not have a chance of qualifying to playoffs despite this victory. Mumbai Indians will play against Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier 1 in Delhi on May 21. MI were 133 all out in 19.1 in chase of 184. Dhawal Kulkarni did not bat due to injury. He hit 2 centuries (Highest score 109 not out) and 11 half centuries. He took 51 catches and effected 16 stumpings. His strike rate was 138.39 and average 27.22 with the bat # Gilchrist also bowled and took a wicket off his first ball. It was the final over of the game where MI needed 51 to win. Harbhajan Singh was caught by Gurkeerat Singh to give Gilchrist a wicket. Gilchrist celebrated the wicket with Gangnam Style dance # It was bizarre to watch Kieron Pollard caught off three successive balls but was out only the last instance. The first one was a no-ball followed by free hit and then dismissed. All this happened in Sandeep Sharma's over (16th of the innings) # Pollard, earlier in the tournament, had dropped three consecutive catches from Michael Hussey # Gilchrist just bowled that 1 ball and finished with 1 wicket. MI were 9 down when Gilchrist took the wicket but Dhawal Kulkarni did not come out to bat due to injuryr in any form of the game # MI's Lasith Malinga entered record books by becoming the first bowler in IPL history to take 100 wickets.
