Mathews

The hosts won the two-match Test series one-nil, but will be without premier spinner Rangana Herath for the three ODIs. They will also be missing former captain Mahela Jayawardene, while Tillakaratne Dilshan is a fitness concern.Looking at the one-day unit, we've had the same combination for a long time and most of the guys are young. We are missing Mahela Jayawardene due to injuries and, apart from Kumar Sangakkara and Tillakaratne Dilshan, in the batting line-up we are all pretty young and growing as a team. He said: "It's not easy, but we as players have to adjust to conditions and situations as soon as possible. That's our main target. We've played some really good cricket in the Test matches, and prior to that we had some good three-day games in domestic cricket. But Mathews is confident his side, while young and inexperienced, will be able to do well against the equally young Bangladesh side, especially if they don't look to Kumar Sangakkara and Mathews to do all the work.Coming from a Test series, and not having played an ODI in two months, Mathews recognised the difficulty in having to switch formats in just a few days, but said it was part of being an international player and they would be ready. Mathews said: "Everyone has to play a big part in this team, for us to win. Everyone has to contribute. We are not looking at the spinners or the seamers, we are looking at a collective effort.
