AB defends team

The Proteas found themselves two down after just two balls, thanks to Mohammad Irfan's double strike, but managed to put together a score of 234 for nine thanks to De Villiers and David Miller's efforts. Pakistan reached the score with eight balls to spare. We fought back really well and tried really hard so I'm proud of the way we bounced back. It shows we're a strong, resilient team and we'll go to Benoni, for the last match, with a lot of confidence and I know we can pull it through. The wicketkeeper said: "We both played really well and did a massive job for the team. We got us back into the game and to help set a decent total. De Villiers denied there was anything wrong with the selections though, saying all the players deserved their spots despite Morne Morkel being left on the bench when his experience could have made a difference. The skipper also commented on the century stand between himself and Miller, without which the Proteas wouldn't have had a score to defend, with De Villiers making 75 and Miller 67. De Villiers said if the side's composition: "We got close to winning in the end, so there is nothing wrong with the balance of our team or with our squad.
